Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, was established under the Punjab Government’s Desh Bhagat University Act. The university is inspired by the legacy of freedom fighter Sr. Lal Singh Ji, who dedicated his life to India’s independence. In recognition of his contributions to the freedom struggle and social work, he was honored with the “Tamra Patra” by the Government of India in 1972, leading to the university’s name, Desh Bhagat.
